Introduction

The Saudi Arabian AMIANTIT Company (SAAC) was established in 1968 Dammam in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to manufacture pipes for the local market. Since then, AMIANTIT has grown and developed into a major diversified industrial group with operations spanning the globe include two Research and Development Facilities.

Amiantit Research & Development Center

The inauguration of the Amiantit Research & Development Center took place in December 2012, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of technological innovation within the AMIANTIT ecosystem. This center, strategically aligned with AMIANTIT Technology and AMIBLU of Norway, has been instrumental in driving forward various development initiatives, particularly in the realm of industrial pipe systems and associated equipment.

Over the years, the focus of the Amiantit Research & Development Center has been steadfastly directed towards the advancement of several key projects. These include the enhancement of industrial pipe, fittings, equipment, and processes, non-metallic and to enhance into metallic products.

Today, the Amiantit Research & Development Center stands as a beacon of technical excellence, boasting a cadre of skilled professionals who specialize in various domains. Notable achievements include expertise in the development and testing of non-metallic and metallic pipes and fittings, proficiency in supporting equipment development and commissioning for operations, and adeptness in materials testing and evaluation. Additionally, the center’s process team plays a pivotal role in facilitating the seamless progression of development initiatives from conception to implementation.

Beyond the human capital, the Amiantit Research & Development Center houses a state-of-the-art laboratory equipped with cutting-edge facilities. These include both short-term testing equipment and an extensive array of long-term Hydrostatic Design Basis (HDB) test stations tailored to industrial pipe development. Furthermore, the facility boasts expansive hot rooms capable of conducting short- and long-term testing at elevated temperatures of 65°C and 95°C.

Notably, the laboratory at the Amiantit Research & Development Center ranks among the world’s foremost testing facilities for GRP and Epoxy pipes. Moreover, our products are engineered with a strong commitment to sustainability, featuring carbon emission support and eco-friendly materials, ensuring a greener future for generations to come.
